Police in Hampton are investigating a shooting that killed a woman on Sunday night.
According to an update from police, emergency services received a call just before 8 p.m. for reports of a gunshot victim inside a home on the first block of Wendell Drive, near the Hampton Golf Course.
When they arrived, police said officers found a woman dead at the scene with gunshot wounds. Responding officers also found a man with “unknown” life-threatening injuries, and he was transported to the hospital. Police said officers at the scene could not determine what may have caused his injuries.
At this time, the investigation is ongoing, but the update from police states the shooting “appears domestic-related.” The victim’s identification has not been released, and officers are notifying next-of-kin of her death.
