A man was killed in a shooting in Newport News early Tuesday morning.
Police responded to the 800 block of Old Oyster Point Road near the intersection with J. Clyde Morris Boulevard following a report of a shooting at about 12:46 a.m. Officers at the scene found a man outside suffering from a gunshot wound.
The man was taken to a hospital where he later died, according to police. Police have not yet released his name.
The investigation is ongoing. No further details have been made available.
